Online Responsible Adult Course Training

The Responsible Adult Course is a 20 hour online training that allows job seekers to gain the skills necessary to work with children.  Once this course is completed, individuals are qualified to work as assistants to early childhood educators in licensed child care facilities.

Through the online training, the Online Responsible Adult Course teaches basic concepts about child development from birth to 12 years of age, child guidance, health, safety and nutrition.

The government of British Columbia has mandated Responsible Adult Course training for all individuals working with children in British Columbia.

This Online Responsible Adult Course meets the BC Child Care Licensing Act requirements for individuals to have at least 20 hours of childcare training including safety, child development and nutrition in order to work with children.

The best part is that our online Responsible Adult Course is self paced.  Students can  start the course when it’s convenient for them, and complete when they are ready.  There is no time limit.

After completing the final exam, students will be emailed a certificate of completion, which can be used to gain employment in licensed child care facilities.

Job seekers can apply for Responsible Adult Course funding through their local WorkBC employment centre. Applicants must apply to be clients of the employment centre and be engaged in an active job search.

Interested persons can contact their local employment centre to see if they might qualify for this program.
