The Responsible Adult certificate is the entry point — 25 hours, one-time, around $39. It gets you into licensed child care right away, earning and gaining Canadian experience. Once you're working, you can build toward ECEA and eventually ECE at your own pace.
You may tell yourself you have "no experience." But you've raised children, cared for younger siblings, looked after cousins or neighbours' kids. That's exactly the experience this field runs on.
The entry point should be affordable, one-time, and available in your language. If someone's quoting hundreds of dollars for what's essentially the same first step, pause and compare.
